What this tutorial covers
A step-by-step walkthrough of the Infrastructure Methane Monitoring form in the EnviroAutomate app. Use this when you're checking methane readings at structures, buildings or assets near a landfill (e.g. boundary buildings, pits, manholes). Each Take Photos button on this form opens a page where you can take a new photo or upload one from your device.
Before you start
Open the EnviroAutomate app while you have signal so the assessment locations download.
Have your gas meter, calibration certificate and PPE ready.
Calibrate the meter against fresh standards before arriving on site.
Step 1 - Open the task
Open the EnviroAutomate app and tap Inbox.
Tap your dispatched Infrastructure Methane Monitoring task.
Tap Start Form Task.
Step 2 - Site Details
Confirm Project Code, Site Name and Site Address match the job (these are read-only).
Confirm Assessment Date and Assessment Time are correct.
Step 3 - Infrastructure Methane Monitoring Log
Add one record per location you take a reading at. For each:
Tap Existing Monitoring Location: Yes if the location already exists in EnviroAutomate, or No for a new location.
If Yes, tap Monitoring Location Code and pick the location from the list (this prefills GPS Eastings and GPS Northings). If No, type the New Monitoring Location Code, New Monitoring Location Type, Location Description, New GPS Eastings and New GPS Northings.
Confirm Date and Time.
Tap Assessment location completed? Yes or No. If No (access blocked, unsafe, etc.), the Methane Reading (ppm) field is hidden and a Not Assessed Reason field appears - type why you couldn't take the reading.
If you tapped Yes, type the Methane Reading (ppm) from your meter.
Type any Comments (e.g. "elevated reading near manhole - recommend extraction follow-up").
Tap Take Photos under Location Photo(s) and add a photo of where the reading was taken.
Tap Add to record the next location, then repeat.
Step 4 - Submit
Check every location on your monitoring round has a record (including any you couldn't access).
Tap Submit.
After you submit
The submission is matched to the Infrastructure Methane Monitoring fieldwork task in EnviroAutomate. Readings are loaded against the Site so they can be trended over time and any elevated readings flagged.
Tips
Always record a reading even if it's zero - missing data is harder to interpret than a confirmed safe reading.
Use Save and Exit between locations to keep your progress under In Progress.
