Objective
This SOP outlines how to view and edit an existing receptor group in EnviroAutomate. The Edit page allows you to update the group's details and manage its subgroups. Receptor groups can be either organisation-specific (fully editable) or shared across all organisations (read-only).
Prerequisites
You must be logged in as an administrator
Key Steps
1. Navigate to the Receptor Group
Click "Receptor Groups" in the left sidebar under the Scientific Settings section
Find the group you want to view or edit in the list
Click on the group row, or click the edit icon (pencil) in the Actions column
2. Update Receptor Group Information
For organisation-specific groups, you can modify:
Name - Update the group name
Matrix - Change the sampling matrix
Sort Order - Update the display order (higher numbers display first)
For shared groups, these fields are read-only.
3. Manage Subgroups
For organisation-specific groups, you can add and manage subgroups. Subgroups provide an additional level of organisation within the group.
Adding a Subgroup
Click the "Add Subgroup" button
A new row appears with fields for the subgroup name and sort order
Enter a name and optionally adjust the sort order
Reordering Subgroups
Use the up and down arrow buttons to move subgroups in the display order
Deleting a Subgroup
Check the delete checkbox next to a subgroup to mark it for deletion
Only subgroups with no receptors assigned can be deleted β if a subgroup has receptors, the delete checkbox will not be available
The subgroup will be removed when you save
Each subgroup shows a badge indicating how many receptors are assigned to it.
4. Save Changes
Click "Save" to update the group and any subgroup changes (only visible if you have edit permissions)
Differences from the Create Page
Subgroup management - Subgroups can only be added and managed on the Edit page, not during creation
Read-only mode - Shared receptor groups have all fields read-only and subgroup management is not available
Cautionary Notes
Shared receptor groups cannot be edited β all fields are read-only
Subgroups with receptors assigned cannot be deleted β you must reassign or remove the receptors first
Changing the Matrix may affect which receptors can belong to this group
Always click "Save" after making changes to subgroups β additions, renames, reorders, and deletions are all saved together
Tips for Efficiency
Use subgroups to further organise receptors within a group (e.g., by land use type or exposure scenario)
Check the receptor count badge on each subgroup to understand how many receptors are assigned before making changes
Use the reorder buttons to control how subgroups appear in the site Receptors tab accordion
