Objective
Review field data submitted by a field technician through the mobile app. The Field Data tab displays the collected data, submission metadata, and device information for the fieldwork task.
Prerequisites
A Fieldwork Task must exist and have been dispatched to a field technician.
The field technician must have completed and submitted the field form via the mobile app.
Accessing the Field Data Tab
Navigate to Tasks > Fieldwork Tasks in the sidebar.
Click on an existing fieldwork task to open the Edit page.
Click the Field Data tab.
What You Will See
Before Field Submission
If the field technician has not yet submitted data, you will see an informational message: "No field data submission found for this fieldwork task."
After Field Submission
Once the field technician completes and submits the form from the mobile app, the tab displays three main areas:
1. Field Data
The main section shows the actual data collected in the field. The sections displayed vary depending on the fieldwork task type:
Groundwater Monitoring Event — Overview, Well Gauging Data, Tankpit Well Gauging Data, Monitoring Well Sampling Data, QA/QC Sample Register, QA/QC Other, Site Inspection Photos, LNAPL Visual Confirmation Photos, Calibration Certificate Photos, and Additional Information.
LFG Bore Monitoring — Overview, Field-Recorded Weather Data, BOM Weather Observations, Bore Measurements, and Calibration Certificate Photos.
LFG Surface Emission Monitoring — Overview, Weather Data, Surface Emissions Monitoring Log, Landfill SEM Exceedance Register(s), and Calibration Certificate Photos.
Infrastructure Methane Monitoring — Overview, Infrastructure Monitoring Measurements, and Calibration Certificate Photos.
Non-Destructive Hazardous Materials Register — Overview, Materials Register Data, and Sample Photos.
SEM Remediation Event Log — Overview, Weather Observations, Remediation Log with Original Photos and Remediation Photos for each entry, and Calibration Certificate Photos.
Soil Classification Ex-situ (NSW and VIC) — Overview, Stockpile Location, Site Characteristics, Site Land Use, Contaminants of Potential Concern, soil origin questions, and Soil Domains.
Soil Classification In-situ (NSW and VIC) — Overview, Stockpile Location, Site Characteristics, Site Land Use, Contaminants of Potential Concern, soil origin questions, Assessment Area Details, Soil Domains, Sample Collection, QA/QC, and Calibration Certificate Photos.
For Soil Classification task types (both In-situ and Ex-situ), a View Edits button is available that shows any edits that have been made to the submitted field data.
2. Field Submission Details
A card showing metadata about the submission:
Submission Date — when the form was submitted.
Form Name — the name of the form template used.
User Name — who submitted the form.
Form Version — the version number of the form template.
Submission ID — unique identifier for the submission.
Resubmit — indicates if this is a resubmission (Yes/No).
Started At — when the field technician began filling in the form.
Completed At — when the field technician finished and submitted the form.
3. Device Information
A card showing details about the mobile device used:
Device — the device name.
App Name — the mobile application used.
App Version — the version of the mobile app.
Manufacturer — the device manufacturer.
Model — the device model.
OS Version — the operating system version.
Processing Results
When field data is processed (e.g., after submission or reprocessing), you may see a Processing Results banner at the top of the tab. This displays messages from the data processing pipeline:
Informational messages (grey) — routine processing notes.
Warnings (yellow) — issues that did not prevent processing but may need attention.
Errors (red) — problems that prevented some data from being processed correctly.
Cautionary Notes
Field data is read-only. The data displayed reflects what the field technician submitted from the mobile app.
If the field technician resubmits data, the previous submission is replaced.
The Field Data tab only appears after the task has been dispatched and the technician has submitted their form.
Tips for Efficiency
Use the Submission Date and Started At / Completed At timestamps to verify when fieldwork was performed.
Check the Device Information section if you suspect issues related to the mobile app version or device compatibility.
If processing results show warnings or errors, review them and take corrective action before proceeding to upload laboratory data.
