Overview
The Report Settings tab lets you customise investigation level settings, bioattenuation parameters, receptors, and contaminants of potential concern (COPCs) for a specific report. Any changes here override the site-level defaults for this report only - they do not affect the site configuration.
This tab only appears for report types that support override categories. If you do not see it, the report type does not have configurable settings.
When Are Settings Populated?
Report settings are not customised by default. They are automatically copied from the Site when the first draft is generated. You can also click Customise Now on this tab to populate and adjust settings before generating any documents.
The Customise Now button only appears the first time you visit this tab (before settings have been populated). Once you click it and save, the editable form replaces the button. From that point on, the tab always shows the form.
If report settings differ from the site, a warning banner appears at the top showing the specific differences (attribute changes, added or removed receptors, and added or removed COPCs).
Site Attribute Checkboxes
These checkboxes control how investigation levels and report calculations are applied. They are organised into two groups, and which groups appear depends on what the report type supports. A given report type may show one group, both groups, or neither.
Adjusted Levels and Bioattenuation group:
Apply Adjusted Levels - Enables adjusted investigation levels.
Apply HSL Bioattenuation Factor - Enables the HSL bioattenuation factor and reveals additional settings (see below).
Investigation Level Flags group:
Account for Bioaccumulation - Includes bioaccumulation in calculations.
Apply Short Term Trigger Values - Includes short-term trigger values in the assessment.
Apply Long Term Trigger Values - Includes long-term trigger values in the assessment.
Exclude Low Reliability Values - Excludes values flagged as low reliability.
HSL Bioattenuation
This section appears when Apply HSL Bioattenuation Factor is ticked. All three conditions must be met and depth to groundwater must be at least 2m for the factor to apply.
Is there evidence of oxygen penetration? - When ticked, sub-fields appear for Assessment Location, Oxygen Reading (%, minimum 5%), and Oxygen Reading Depth (m, minimum 1m).
Is the hydrocarbon source depth 2 metres or deeper? - When ticked, a Justification field appears.
Does the concrete slab have one side less than 15 metres? - When ticked, sub-fields appear for Slab Length (m), Slab Width (m), and Slab Description.
Depth to Groundwater (m below ground surface) - 2 to 4m applies a 10x factor. 4m or more applies a 100x factor.
Unticking a condition checkbox clears all of its sub-fields.
Receptors (Sub-page)
For report types that support receptor overrides, a button labelled Adjust Site Receptors (this report only) opens a separate page where you can select which receptors apply to this report.
Receptors are organised by matrix (e.g., Soil, Groundwater) and grouped by receptor group
Each receptor shows a colour indicator and optional description
An Expand All / Collapse All button helps navigate the accordion layout
A badge on each group shows how many receptors are currently selected
Changes are saved per sub-page - click Save Receptors before navigating away
COPCs (Sub-page)
For report types that support COPC overrides, a button labelled Adjust Site COPCs (this report only) opens a separate page where you can define which contaminants of potential concern apply.
COPCs are organised by matrix tabs (e.g., Soil, Groundwater)
Within each matrix, analytes are grouped by analyte group in an accordion layout
A group-level checkbox selects or deselects all analytes in a group at once
Each analyte shows its CAS-RN, concentration type, and unit of measure
A badge on each matrix tab shows how many analytes are currently selected
Changes are saved per matrix - click Save Analytes for the current matrix before switching tabs
Investigation Levels (Read-Only)
A table at the bottom of the page displays the investigation levels that result from the current combination of receptors, COPCs, and attribute settings. This is read-only and updates automatically when you save changes above.
Reset to Site Values
The Reset to Site Values button overwrites all report-level customisations with the current site values. A confirmation prompt appears before the reset is applied. This cannot be undone.
Things to Know
If the site settings are correct for this report, you do not need to customise anything. Settings are copied automatically when the first draft is generated.
Receptor and COPC changes are saved on their own sub-pages, separately from the main Report Settings save button.
The difference banner at the top is a quick way to see where this report deviates from the site.
Not every report type shows both checkbox groups. If you only see a subset, the missing checkboxes are not supported by this report type.
