What this tutorial covers

A step-by-step walkthrough of the SEM Remediation Event Log form in the EnviroAutomate app. Use this to record the work you've done to remediate point source methane exceedances found during the previous LFG SEM Event. The exceedance list is pre-populated from that event - you work through each one. Each Take Photos button on this form opens a page where you can take a new photo or upload one from your device.

Before you start

  • Open the EnviroAutomate app while you have signal so the exceedance list downloads.

  • Have your gas meter, calibration certificate, remediation kit and PPE ready.

  • Calibrate the meter against fresh standards before you arrive on site.

Step 1 - Open the task

  1. Open the EnviroAutomate app and tap Inbox.

  2. Tap your dispatched SEM Remediation task.

  3. Tap Start Form Task.

Step 2 - Landfill SEM Exceedance Remediation Log (header)

  1. Confirm Project Code, Site Name and Site Address are correct (these are read-only).

  2. Type the Meter Make / Model.

  3. Tap Take Photos under Calibration Certificates and add the cert for your gas meter.

Step 3 - Open the exceedance list

  1. Tap surface Emission Remediation Log. The number next to it shows how many point sources are queued for remediation.

  2. A list of Point Source Code entries appears (e.g. PS-20260202-T1-1) - one per exceedance from the prior SEM event.

Step 4 - Work through each point source

For each point source on the list:

  1. Tap the Point Source Code entry to open it. The Point Source Type, Pre-Remediation methane reading, Exceedance Date and GPS coordinates are pre-filled - check them so you know what you're walking up to.

  2. Walk to the GPS location and locate the point source. Confirm the Point Source Type matches what you see on the ground.

  3. Carry out the remediation (re-seal cap, replace gas well cap, fill defect, etc.).

  4. Tap Point Source Location Remediation Completed? Yes or No. The fields that appear next depend on which you tap:

    • Yes: type the Remediation Completed Date, Remediation Completed By (your name or contractor's), Post Remediation Reading Date and Maximum Methane (ppm) - Post Remediation (the new reading you took at the same point after fixing it).

    • No: type the Reason Remediation Not Completed (e.g. "infrastructure penetration - referred to engineering").

  5. Tap Take Photos under Remediation Photo and add a before / after or completed photo.

  6. Tap Done to save the entry. You're back on the point source list.

  7. Tap the next Point Source Code entry and repeat.

Step 5 - Submit

  1. When every point source has been actioned, tap Submit.

After you submit

The submission is matched to the SEM Remediation fieldwork task in EnviroAutomate. Each point source's outcome and the photos you took are recorded against the Site. The next LFG SEM Event will re-monitor any sources you marked complete to confirm the methane reading has dropped.

Tips

  • If you can't locate a point source on the ground (markers worn, GPS drift), mark Remediation Completed = No and put a note in Reason Remediation Not Completed so it carries forward to the next event.

  • Use Save and Exit if you need to break between sources.
