How to assign receptors and receptor groups to a site for risk assessment

Objective

This article covers the Receptors tab on the Edit Site page in EnviroAutomate. This tab allows you to select which receptors apply to the site, which is used in environmental risk assessments and determines which investigation levels are relevant.

Prerequisites

  • Receptors and receptor groups must be configured in the system (under Scientific Settings)

What This Tab Shows

The Receptors tab is organised by sampling matrix. Each matrix (e.g., Soil, Fresh Water) is rendered as a heading, with an accordion of receptor groups below it. Within each group, receptors may be split into subgroups. Each receptor has a checkbox and a colour indicator dot.

Key Actions

  • Select receptors - Tick the boxes next to the receptors that apply to this site

  • Deselect receptors - Untick boxes to remove receptors from the site

  • Expand/Collapse All - Use the button at the top to expand or collapse every receptor-group accordion at once

  • Save - Click Save Receptors to apply your selections

Understanding the Layout

  • Sections are ordered by Matrix, then Receptor Group, then Subgroup

  • Each accordion header (Receptor Group) shows a badge with the count of selected receptors in that group

  • Colour indicator dots next to each receptor match the colours used in investigation level tables and reports

Cautionary Notes

  • Remember to click Save Receptors after making changes

  • Changing receptor selections will affect which investigation levels are displayed on the Investigation Levels tab

Tips for Efficiency

  • Use the Expand All button to see all available receptors at once, then selectively tick the ones that apply

  • Check the badge counts on collapsed receptor groups to quickly see how many receptors are selected in each group without expanding
