Objective
This article covers the COPC (Contaminants of Potential Concern) tab on the Edit Site page in EnviroAutomate. This tab allows you to select which analytes are considered contaminants of potential concern for the site, organised by sampling matrix.
Prerequisites
Analytes and analyte groups must be configured in the system (under Scientific Settings)
What This Tab Shows
The COPC tab uses a tabbed interface at the top to switch between sampling matrices (e.g., Soil, Fresh Water). Each matrix tab shows a badge with the count of selected analytes. Within each matrix, analytes are organised into analyte groups displayed as an accordion.
Key Actions
Selecting Analytes
Click a matrix tab to view its analyte groups
Expand an analyte group to see the individual analytes
Check the box next to each analyte that is a contaminant of concern for this site
Use the group-level checkbox to select or deselect all analytes in a group at once
Each analyte shows its CAS-RN number, concentration type, and unit of measurement
Group Checkbox Behaviour
Checked (tick) - All analytes in the group are selected
Indeterminate (dash) - Some analytes in the group are selected
Unchecked (empty) - No analytes in the group are selected
Clicking a group checkbox when unchecked or indeterminate selects all; clicking when checked deselects all
COPC Description
Use the Description text area to add notes about the COPC selections for this site
Other Actions
Expand/Collapse All - Use the button to expand or collapse all analyte groups at once
Save - Click "Save" to apply your COPC selections
Cautionary Notes
Remember to click "Save" after making changes to your COPC selections
COPC selections are per-matrix β make sure to check all relevant matrix tabs
COPC selections influence which analytes appear in reports and data analysis for this site
Tips for Efficiency
Use the group-level checkboxes to quickly select or deselect entire analyte groups
Check the badge counts on the matrix tabs to see at a glance how many analytes are selected per matrix
Use the "Expand All" button to see all analyte groups when making bulk selections
