Objective
View the details of a laboratory analyte in EnviroAutomate. Laboratory analytes define how a specific analyte is tested at a specific laboratory, including the method used, detection limits, and unit of measure. They are shared across all organisations and are read-only for Tenant Admins.
Prerequisites
You must be logged in as a Tenant Admin.
Navigate to Scientific Settings > Laboratory Analytes in the sidebar.
The Laboratory Analytes List
The list page displays a table of all laboratory analyte mappings. You can search and filter the list using the controls at the top of the page.
Viewing Laboratory Analyte Details
Click on any laboratory analyte row to open its detail page. All fields are displayed as read-only.
Related Entities
An information panel at the top shows details about the linked records:
Laboratory — the laboratory that performs this test.
Analyte — the analyte being tested.
Analyte Group — the group the analyte belongs to.
CAS RN — the CAS Registry Number of the analyte.
Matrix — the environmental matrix (e.g., Soil, Groundwater).
Concentration Type — the concentration type of the analyte.
Surrogate — whether the analyte is a surrogate compound (Yes/No).
Sort Order — the display order of the analyte.
Description — the analyte description (if available).
Laboratory-Specific Analyte Information
Analyte Name — the name the laboratory uses for this analyte in their data files. This may differ from the standard analyte name.
Unit of Measure — the unit the laboratory reports results in.
Method Code — the laboratory's method code for this test.
Method Description — a description of the testing method used.
Detection Limits
Method Detection Limit — the lowest concentration that the method can reliably detect.
Limit of Reporting — the lowest concentration the laboratory will report as a quantified result.
Status and Additional Information
Active — whether this laboratory analyte is currently active for testing.
Notes — any additional notes about testing conditions or limitations.
Audit Log
Click the Audit Log button in the top-right corner to view the change history for the laboratory analyte.
Important Notes
Laboratory analytes are shared across all organisations and are read-only. You cannot create, edit, or delete them.
Laboratory analytes are created automatically when laboratory data files are processed. They cannot be created, modified, or deleted by Tenant Admins.
The Analyte Name field is important for data processing — it must match what the laboratory uses in their CSV export files.
Tips for Efficiency
Use the link icons next to Laboratory, Analyte, and Analyte Group to quickly navigate to the related records.
If lab data processing reports unmatched analytes, a new laboratory analyte may need to be created to map the laboratory's name to the correct analyte in the system.
